Pankaj Nath Joy

Every day, I’m driven by a simple yet profound question: "What role can architecture play in shaping the future?" This curiosity has guided my journey, from earning my B.Arch at the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) to pursuing a Master’s in Architecture at Miami University, Ohio, and now working in the Education Studio at Design Collaborative in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

I’m passionate about creating spaces that foster learning and community, and my role in the Education Studio allows me to design environments that have a lasting impact on students and educators. Alongside this, I’m deeply committed to inspiring the next generation of architects. I volunteer as a career talk instructor at various K-12, middle, and high schools, where I engage young minds and open their eyes to the possibilities of architecture. Seeing their excitement and curiosity is one of the most rewarding parts of my work.

My professional journey began with a strong foundation in critical thinking and design, as evidenced by leading teams to win prestigious international competitions like IDC 2015 (Mumbai), DESIGN RESILIENCE IN ASIA, NUS(Singapore). These experiences taught me the power of collaboration and the importance of designing with intention and purpose.

I’m also an avid traveler, always seeking to absorb new cultures and understand how different communities shape their environments. This passion for exploration fuels my interest in urban design and how city dynamics can be improved through thoughtful architecture.

Whether I’m learning new construction technologies, experimenting with innovative materials, or diving into the details of a project, I’m always pushing myself to grow as both an architect and a future leader in the field.

Outside of work, I find balance through painting, reading, gaming, and experimenting in the kitchen. These activities not only fuel my creativity but also keep me grounded.

I am continuously striving to expand my skill set, with the ultimate goal of becoming a well-rounded, innovative architect who can lead impactful projects and inspire future generations.
